Alex Birukoff: Prior to his retirement, Alex worked, with some interruptions, at PNC for a total of 22 years in various senior management and technology positions. The last three years at PNC he was a member of the corporate architecture group. This group set technology direction and strategy for the entire corporation and provided the Line of Business CIOs, and the corporate CIO with technology assessments and trends for the financial industry. During one of those interruptions at PNC, Alex was working for TYCO TOYS of Mt. Laurel, NJ, responsible for all international data centers, setting long range direction for technology and integration processing for the company. Prior to TYCO TOYS, he worked for Rhône-Poulenc-Rorer, again responsible for all international data centers of this multi-national pharmaceutical company. Other technology related efforts included consulting with DMR, a Canadian consulting group that specialized in CIO level management consulting related specifically to M&A impact on IT services in the Pharmaceutical industry. Alex started in the IT business in 1968 holding a part time job operating accounting machines and 1401/1440 IBM computers.
