The Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group's (GPSEG) Regional Business Outlook series will roll into the region's bustling healthcare sector as Sue Schick, Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealthcare, Pennsylvania & Delaware, will headline the latest edition - scheduled for the morning of March 24 at the venerable Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.
The nuts-and-bolts of healthcare reform are on the front burners of many business leaders and above the fold of many newspapers - and Schick can certainly speak to that. But her presentation at the RBO will focus more on her efforts to build up her team and transform UHC's employee culture - and perhaps most significantly, how those strategies directly impacted the company's financial results.
UHC is a pillar of the healthcare industry throughout the country, but the company is still a relatively new entrant into Pennsylvania and Delaware. In her remarks, Schick will reflect upon UHC's specific journey into the Delaware Valley at a time of great change in the health care industry. What worked? What didn't work? What makes our region's market unique?
Since ascending to CEO in 2009, Schick has overseen the company's efforts to grow membership, implement strategies tailored to the local market, achieve financial targets and maintain relationships with key stakeholders - all as UHC has sought to become a more active player in the Delaware Valley.
In addition to her leadership at UHC, Schick serves on the Board of Directors of Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Philadelphia affiliate and the March of Dimes of Pennsylvania. She is the Chair of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women and serves on the Governor's Advisory Council on Privatization & Innovation and the Board of the Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania.
Join your colleagues, friends and fellow GPSEG members as we welcome Sue Schick to our Spring Regional Business Outlook to discuss how inspiring a company team and creating a vision for corporate culture has helped UnitedHealthcare successfully navigate the rapidly changing healthcare industry.
