PHILADELPHIA — The Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group (GPSEG) Board of Directors announced a new slate of officers today. Rip Tilden was elected chairman and CEO of the organization for a one-year term, while Tom Aiken was elected vice chairman.
In addition, Paul Mitchell and Jane Frankel were elected as treasurer and secretary, respectively.
Tilden succeeds Dwayne Patterson, the Vice President of Townsend Machine, Inc. in Chesterfield, N.J.
“I’m honored and pleased to serve as chairman of GPSEG during such an exciting time in the organization’s history,” Tilden said. “My predecessors, including Dwayne Patterson and Syd Weinstein, have set into motion several initiatives that will help GPSEG grow stronger and more effective this year and well into the future. I look forward to working with our board and members to maintain that momentum in 2012.”
A resident of Malvern, Tilden is a partner at Markarios Consulting, LLC, in Downingtown and is the practice team leader for the company’s strategy and operational execution practices. He is actively engaged in coaching leaders in business, higher education and college athletics. He previously led a multi-million dollar fitness and wellness business in West Chester, and served as the Chief Operating Officer of InterDigital Communications in King of Prussia.
Tilden is president of the Berwyn Fire Co., vice chair of the board of the YMCA of the Upper Main Line and is a member of the board of the Mid-Atlantic Employers Association.
A resident of Furlong, Aiken is a principal/business development consultant for DGK Group, P.C. of Plymouth Meeting, a professional accounting services firm, where he was recruited to expand business development and provide CFO services to clients. He previously was senior vice president/chief financial officer, secretary at Prescient Applied Intelligence, Inc. of West Chester.
Aiken co-chairs the GPSEG Financial Executives Subgroup. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, the New Jersey Technology Council, The Financial Executives Networking Group and the Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures, where he is an advisory board member.
A resident of Oaks, Mitchell is Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking, for Citibank, where he specializes in small- and medium-sized companies. He previously served as President of Mitchell Capital Corp. and President of CoreStates Enterprise Fund, the mezzanine private equity fund of CoreStates Bank.
Mitchell is co-chair of GPSEG’s Financial Executives Subgroup. He also is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Consultants Network, a former director of the Small Business Board of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Association for Corporate Growth.
A resident of North Wales, Frankel is the principal and founder of The Art of Performance, LLC, an organizational education and effectiveness company that focuses on culture, community building, scorecarding for performance management, social structures and customer relationships. She previously was the director, corporate business development at Vertex, Inc. in Berwyn.
Frankel is the Board Liaison to GPSEG’s Mentoring Committee, as well as the Alliance Committee. She is an adjunct faculty member at Arcadia University and Temple University and a member of the Greater Philadelphia Entrepreneur’s Forum, the International Visitors Council of Philadelphia, the Center for Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania and the Global Interdependence Center.
